NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Police have advised that explosions will be heard Thursday in the Hunter’s Point district of Long Island City, Queens, as part of a movie production project.

“Controlled low-level pyrotechnics” were set to rock the area between the hours of 10 a.m. and noon, and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, in the area of 52-40 2nd St. in Queens, the NYPD said.

Police did not specify the movie or company behind the planned explosions.

The site of the planned explosion is a warehouse and industrial district that is now under redevelopment.

Plans are underway for the Hunter’s Point South Project, which once completed will include two high-rise buildings, a school and a waterfront park.
