COURT SQUARE — Fans of Long Island City foodie destination M. Wells Steakhouse can now learn how to make some of the acclaimed eatery’s favorite dishes on their own.

Chef Hugue Dufour — who owns both the steakhouse and M. Wells Dinette at MoMA PS 1 alongside wife Sarah Obraitis — will host cooking classes in February and March to share kitchen tips, techniques and recipes.

The three-hour courses will stay true to the couple’s Quebecois roots. One will cover the art of the cassoulet —a French dish of slow-cooked meat and white beans, for which Dufour has won accolades — while the other will teach the ins-and-outs of cooking with maple syrup.

“Hugue packs an incredible amount of information and fun in a three-hour class that includes history, theory, demonstration, technique, recipes, stories and style,” Obraitis said in an email.

“Audience participation and hands on activity may be as much or as little as desired.”

The February cassoulet class is already sold out, but there’s another scheduled from 3 to 6 p.m. on March 19 that will go over each step of preparing the dish and teach attendees 10 different recipes.

The maple syrup classes will take place on Feb. 26 and March 26, covering “maple in all its forms and functions,” including Dufour’s recipes for pork rinds, baked beans, pineapple maple ham, maple taffy and more.

Each session costs $150 and will take place at M. Wells Steakhouse, 43-15 Crescent St., with attendees getting to enjoy a feast, wine and a recipe book they can take home.

To reserve a spot, call the steakhouse at (718) 786-9060 or email [email protected].
