New Long Island City Condo Five27 Quietly Goes Up For Sale

In the competitive new development landscape that is Long island City, can a new building succeed by being very, very quiet? We’ve heard hardly a peep out of Five27, a new condo building at 5-27 51st Street, since the marketing team was chosen in February. But the building has a website and units are on the market—the site lists three, ranging from a $440,000 studio to a $950,000 2BR, 2BA. A bunch of other units are off the market, according to StreetEasy, but it’s unclear whether they’ve already found buyers. Floorplans and images are sparse.

Here’s one more rendering from the building website:

The listings hint at the amenities: a “unique lobby” with a lounge and “enchanting sound system,” whatever that means, a virtual doorman, package room, gym, roof deck, biking, and bike storage.
