Recall of ricotta cheese sold in Wash., Ore.

By amol on September 18, 2012

AUBURN, Wash. (AP) — An Auburn, Wash., company is recalling Ricotta Salata Frescolina brand cheese that came from supplier Forever Cheese of Long Island City, N.Y.

Peterson Co. says Forever Cheese recalled the product because of possible contamination with listeria bacteria.

The cheese was sold to distributors, retailers and restaurants in Washington and Oregon between July 17 and Sept. 10.

The cheese is cut into 7-ounce pieces, with manufacturer codes 7022, 7212, 7272 and 7432.
