Garden City High School: National Spanish Recognition

By amol on September 16, 2012

Congratulations to Garden City High School seniors Thomas Mage and Brain
Sclafani for being named 2012-2013 Scholars in the National Hispanic Recognition
Program (NHRP)
. Pictured here are (left to right) Brian’s guidance counselor Natasha
Khan, Brian Sclafani, Thomas Mage, Jeanne Kennedy, Thomas’ guidance counselor, and
principal Nanine McLaughlin.

Thomas and Brian were selected from a pool of over 253,000 students who took
the 2011 PSAT/NMSQT/PAA exams. To be designated as NHRP Scholars, the students
needed to be at least one-quarter Hispanic/Latino, achieve a minimum
PSAT/NMSQT/PAA regional score, and a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
