NYC’s Food Hall Virus Spreads to Long Island City

By amol on August 1, 2017

Food halls are rapidly taking over the New York City dining scene, and Long Island City will be the next recipient. The Jacx is currently being built at 28-01 Jackson Avenue and will be a two-tower office complex with a food hall, restaurant, gourmet market, full-acre terrace park, and fitness center.

The food hall and restaurant portions will be part of more than 50,000 square feet of retail space, and is just what the neighborhood apparently craves. A recent resident survey found that 19 percent of the more than 1,300 surveyed residents consider restaurants one of three top pressing needs in the neighborhood. There’s a current influx of new restaurants and residences going up in the area.

The Jacx’s ETA is not until 2019, with no word yet on what or how many vendors will occupy the space. Eater has reached out for more information; stay tuned.
