Starbucks moving into Jackson Avenue space in Long Island City

By amol on June 3, 2017

Long Island City residents will be able to get their grande lattes at the neighborhood’s second Starbucks location.

The franchise will open the new addition at 26-14 Jackson Ave., Court Square Blog first reported. The retail space is located within Dutch LIC, a mixed-use building with condos. The space used to be occupied by the development’s sales department.

Dan Shallit, director of store development for Starbucks, said the neighborhood has “been a target for us for many years.”

“Finding the perfect location which balances the third place environment (room for people to relax, lounge and enjoy the best coffee with a good book, kindle or the old school newspaper) and the convenience for all the folks commuting or just using mass transportation has been our challenge,” he said in an email.

Shallit could not confirm when the store would open.

Another Starbucks is located within the Citi building at 25-01 Jackson Ave.
