Police still looking for mad motorist who stabbed a cab driver in Long Island City

By amol on May 4, 2017

A man in a black Audi who went on a road rage rampage in Long Island City after a taxi driver allegedly cut him off on Tuesday night remains at large, authorities said.

According to police, the incident took place in front of 30-61 Crescent St. around 8:15 p.m. on May 2. The 40-year-old cab driver pulled over and the suspect, a black male driving an Audi, pulled up next to him and they got into a verbal dispute, police said.

The suspect then pulled out a knife and slashed the taxi driver’s tire. When the taxi driver tried taking photos of the suspect and his car, he was stabbed three times in the shoulder.

The man jumped back into his car and fled the scene, according to police.

Officers from the 114th Precinct responded to the incident. The taxi driver was taken to Elmhurst Hospital where he was treated for the puncture wounds.

No arrests have been made and the case is still under investigation.
