Long Island City’s apartment boom continues with the Decker, launching sales from $685K

By amol on March 23, 2017

Recently, the Long Island City Partnership—a new economic development organization serving the waterfront area—announced that the Queens neighborhood is due to have 9,000 new apartments come on to the market in 2017. That’s a lot, and in the first quarter we’ve already seen a few of these developments appear, including 1 QPS Tower and The Forge.

Now, add The Decker to that list—on the condo side of things, anyway. The development is currently under construction at 21-10 44th Drive, right next to the Court Square station. Apartments in the building, which just launched sales, will start from $685,000 and go up to $1.525 million. The seven-story building features a total of 22 units that come in one, two, and three-bedroom variants.

Each space is fitted with wide natural oak flooring, and features Miton Cucine Italian cabinetry and Bosch appliances; the bathrooms will come with Grohe and Kohler fixtures.

In terms of amenities, they include the usual suspects: a fitness center, a landscaped outdoor area with barbecue grills and patio furniture, and a recreation room with a pool table, among others.

The building’s name is a nod to the maritime history of this area—in particular, it’s a tribute to the Newtown Creek Towing Company’s tugboat, W.O. Decker. The project is being developed by Kora Developers, and Zproekt is responsible for the architecture.

When the Court Square Blog last checked in with the construction site in November 2016, the building was a few stories above ground. Construction is expected to wrap up by September this year, and Modern Spaces is handling the sales and marketing.
