Queens senator wants to shutter Long Island City strip club Aces, a hotbed for ‘troubling activity’

A Queens politician is aiming to shut down a trouble-prone jiggle joint.

State Sen. Michael Gianaris (D-Queens) wants to boot Long Island City’s Aces Gentleman’s Club, which he says is teeming with criminal activity. He is asking the State Liquor Authority not to renew the club’s cabaret license.

“Recent reports from the NYPD’s 114th Precinct indicate a disproportionate number of disturbing incidents come from this establishment, including gang-related shootings, arrests and summonses,” Gianaris said in a letter to the SLA Friday. “It is evident that Aces is a danger to local residents and a detriment to our community’s quality of life.”

In one recent year alone, people called 911 about incidents at the club 252 times, Gianaris said, although he declined to disclose which year that was.

On May 14, 2016, a fight broke out inside the club, located on 37th Ave. near 31st St., after a woman poured a drink over a patron’s head about 3:30 a.m., according to cops. When the fight spilled outside, someone pulled a gun and opened fire into a crowd, striking a customer in the foot.

No arrests were ever made.

“Aces is notorious for its ongoing troubling activity,” Gianaris said. “Residents deserve to live in a community where they feel safe, with a robust quality of life. It’s time we get rid of this bad adult establishment once and for all and apply our resources towards protecting our schools, small businesses and families.”

Police sources said that the strip club is heavily monitored by cops.

South Bronx gentrification could close Sin City strip club

Last year, cops made a point to patrol past the club 182 times, sources said. Cops were dispatched to the club 61 other times for a myriad of purposes, from harassment and stolen property complaints to car accidents outside, according to officials.

Aces bills itself as the “premiere setting for customers searching for a top of the line strip club experience” that “showcases the finest entertainers around the globe.”

“Club Aces Queens has over 40+ of NYC’s sexiest woman daily in order to fulfill even the pickiest of customers,” its website boasts. “No cost was spared in making this one of the hottest Gentlemen’s club in town.”

A woman who answered the phone at Aces was aware of Gianaris’ attempts to close the place down but was not permitted to talk about it.
