LONG ISLAND CITY — A developer plans to demolish a two-story garage near Queensboro Plaza and replace it with a nine-story apartment building, according to city records.
LIC Manor Realty LLC filed plans with the Department of Buildings on Jan. 10 for construction at 41-14 27th St. between 41st Avenue and Queens Plaza North, records show.
The building will reach 90 feet high and contain 30 apartments, as well as retail on the first floor and an outdoor recreation area for tenants on the ninth floor, according to the plans.

LIC Manor Realty bought the property, which currently houses a car service company, in October of 2016 for $6.5 million, city records show.
The car company declined to comment. The developer did not immediately return messages seeking comment Tuesday.
The project is one of several new buildings planned for the immediate area, which is already dotted with construction sites.
Another nine-story, mixed-use building with 32 apartments is planned just a few doors away at 41-04 27th St., and a 15-story building with 46 apartments is rising on the other side at 41-32 27th St., records show.
