The Hunters Point Park Conservancy is hosting a Fall Festival to reflect on past progress in the parks and begin taking ideas for the future.

The community group is hosting a free party open to the community Thursday night to celebrate the parks at the Crabhouse Restaurant at 2-03 Borden Avenue in LIC from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

The party will be family friendly, with arts and crafts and a magician for kids, and free appetizers and a cash bar for adults. Each member of the HPPC will get one free drink.

“It’s a festival for the community,” said Rob Basch, the president of the HPPC. “We want to tell people what has been going on in the park, celebrate what happened all summer and get input from the community for what they want to see in the park moving forward.”

The event will also give community members an opportunity to bring non-perishable food for the Lions Club Thanksgiving food drive.

“It’s a chance to celebrate our progress so far and get more people involved with the parks,” Basch said.
