Man robs woman on R train in Long Island City and threatens to kill her

Police are looking for a man who stole nearly $2,000 and credit cards from a woman standing on a train platform in Long Island City and then threatened to kill her.

On July 26 at 1:30 p.m., the suspect approached a 33-year-old female standing on a Forest Hills-bound M and R train platform inside the 36th Street subway station. He forcibly removed her wallet and threatened to kill her, police said.

The wallet contained $1,350 in cash, credit cards and a check for $481.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 17 to 20 years old, approximately 125 pounds, 5 feet, 5 inches to 5 feet, 7 inches and was last seen wearing a green T-shirt, green tank top and white pants.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then enter TIP577. All calls and messages are kept confidential.
