LONG ISLAND CITY — You’ll be able to eat, drink and recite your way through Vernon Boulevard next week during the area’s first “literary crawl.”

The Q-Boro Literary Crawl will take place at around a dozen bars and restaurants in Hunters Point on April 7. Each venue will host events including poetry readings, spoken word and literary trivia.

“We’re going to have an entire night full of events,” said organizer Johanne Civil. “It’s going to be a little bit of everything.”

The event is to honor National Poetry Month, and is also a fundraiser for the Queens Book Festival, a free celebration featuring more than 100 writers and literary vendors that’s set to take place in August at CitiField.

Tickets to the crawl cost $10 in advance, which gets you access the the night’s events as well as food and drink specials. A $40 ticket comes with a gift bag and entry to the after-party.

The crawl will be organized into four “legs” — blocks of time during which readings will be taking place at several bars or restaurants at once. More than 100 writers and poets are expected to participate.

There will be 20 minute breaks between events to give participants time to get to their next venue, though the exact course they take is up to them. Information booths will also be set up along the street with maps and event guides, organizers said.

Businesses participating in the crawl are mostly located along Vernon Boulevard and include P.J. Leahy’s, LIC Bar, Dominies Hoek, Gantry Bar and Kitchen, The Standing Room and others.

The Queens Book Festival is planning a second literary crawl in Forest Hills on April 28.
