Rockrose’s Long Island City Tower Sure Will Be Glassy

Demolition began at the former Eagle Electric warehouse at 43-22 Queens Street in Long Island City last year, making way for a 54-story apartment tower from developer Rockrose. Now, NY YIMBY has gotten ahold of a couple renderings of the planned tower, designed by SLCE Architects, revealing that the tower will be enormous, glassy, and not much else. Unlike the other Rockrose-SLCE collaboration nearby at 43-25 Hunter Street, which features some angles and setbacks, this one is going to be a straight up glass box. At 580 feet tall, it will rank as Long Island City’s third tallest tower.
