Long Island City Will Soon Have Skyscraper Saturated Skyline

By amol on February 23, 2015

It isn’t enough that Manhattan will look like a screenshot from SimCity 3000 in a few years—Long Island City is also well on its way to turning into Little Midtown with all the skyscrapers slated to go up.

City Realty has put up some renderings of the future LIC with news that Lions Group will erect a complementary pair of residential towers on Jackson Avenue, dubbed Jackson East and Jackson West. According to 6sqft, those are are just a pair of more than two dozen high-rise developments underway in LIC’s Court Square / Queens Plaza area.

On the plus side, this is a step in the right direction if you’re looking forward to the day we’re all living in hover apartments just below the clouds and going on high-speed taxi chases in a Star Wars-lite environment.
