ODA’s Stack Of Boxes Takes Shape In Long Island City

As 5Pointz comes down, its neighbor goes up. Construction on the ODA-designed apartment building at 22-22 Jackson Avenue is moving right along beside the growing pile of 5Pointz rubble, and Field Condition recently stopped by the site. The building features ODA’s signature stack–of–boxes look, and it will hold 175 apartments. FC points out that the cast-in-place building is being constructed in the same way as the supertall 432 Park, but “with a more playful massing of residential modules that randomly extrude from the facade.” So basically, it’s the opposite of the perfectly square 432 Park.
