On September 25, the Kiwanis of Astoria and Long Island City honored three individuals for outstanding service to their community.

Recognized at the evening event held at Riccardo’s by the Bridge were George Halvatzis of Halvatzis Realty (Man of the Year), Community Relations and Volunteer Services Director for Mount Sinai Queens Ana Rodriguez (Woman of the Year) and Quontic Bank Regional Vice President Michael A. Serao (Community Person of the Year).

Among the many in attendance were state Senator Michael Gianaris, Councilmembers Costa Constantinides and Paul Vallone, former City Council Speaker Peter Vallone Sr., as well as event Chair Linda Perno, past President Dr. Arthur Gualtieri, who was the evening’s presenter, and Kiwanis President Rose Anne Alafogiannis who also co-chaired the event with George Perno.

“We are very happy to honor those who are crucial to our community,” said Gualtieri.
