HUNTERS POINT — A gourmet food store is being planned for Long Island City, one of three retailers slated to set up shop in a new 12-story rental building in Hunters Point.

The food market will be leasing 7,590-square-feet at Gantry Park Landing, a 199-unit apartment building at 2-14 50th Ave. at 2nd Street, according to developer The Lightstone Group.

The store will be called Urban Market and will offer gourmet cheese, fresh meat and seafood, pastries, prepared foods and other items, according to a statement from the developer.

In addition to the market, Gantry Park Landing is slated to house an upscale coffee, tea and wine shop called Beans, Grapes and Leaves, as well as an urgent care medical center from North Shore-LIJ.

Residential apartments in the building are also now fully leased, according to the developer. Units began leasing in July, with rents starting at $1,875 for a studio, $2,450 for a one-bedroom, $3,250 for a two-bedroom, two-bath and $4,650 for a three-bedroom, three-bath home.

Tenants in the building have access to a number of amenities, including a roof deck with an outdoor fireplace, a movie-screening area, a gym with a yoga studio and a pet spa.

“The draw for a more boutique community on the waterfront was quite evident and the strong activity we saw in response to Gantry Park Landing is proof of the demand for that lifestyle,” The Lightstone Group’s CEO David Lichtenstein said in a statement.
