The police are looking for a man who they say has broken into three Long Island City stores in the past month—making off with watches, glasses and jewelry.

The police described the alleged perpetrator as a man in his late 40s or early 50s, with a bald head and medium build.

The suspect’s first known break in occurred on Oct. 14, when he got inside an eighth floor jewelry store on 47th Avenue in Long Island City, and took off with baubles, police said.

The suspect also allegedly made his way inside a second floor glasses store on 33rd Street on Oct. 23, taking eyeglass frames.

Then on Oct. 26, the perpetrator took watches from the sixth floor of LaGuardia Community College at 29-10 Thomson Ave.

The police say the suspect returned to the 47th Avenue jewelry store again on Nov. 5 and broke in. He also returned to the eyeglass store he burglarized on Nov. 16, and took more frames.

The police said that the man breaks into the stores by tossing rocks from nearby rooftops. However, they did not provide any further explanation about he broke in after that.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
