A well known Steinway Street beef store is expected to close, as developers are likely buy the property.
The site, where Western Beef is located, is on the market for $17 million and is likely to be snapped up by developers. The property, which will be delivered vacant, includes the beef store, its parking lot, as well as a neighboring car wash. The property is located at 3620 Steinway St and is more than 1 acre in size.
This section of Steinway Street, which borders Northern Blvd., has yet to be developed for residential purposes. “It’s the next extension of the Long Island City-Astoria area and people are interested to see how it develops,” said Matt Dzbanek, a broker for cpexre.
The brokers are marketing the property as ideal for mixed use development. They claim that as many as 85 apartment units can be built on site, in addition to ground-floor retail.
