Foodcellar in Hunters Point

August 2, Staff Report

Food Cellar, the upscale supermarket located at Center Boulevard and 47th Road, will be opening a 14,000 sq ft. store in Court Square.

Food Cellar, which recently signed a 15 year lease, will be located on the ground floor (and basement) of the Linc LIC, a 709-unit residential tower located at 43-10 Crescent Street. The 42-story building is being developed by Rockrose and residents are expected to be moving in shortly.

“The opening of the supermarket is great news for the employees and residents of the Court Square neighborhood,” said Dana Frankel, district services manager at the Long Island City Partnership.

Frankel said that Food Cellar will have a food bar and outdoor seating, which provides employees in the neighborhood with another lunch option. She said that she hopes the new location will sell items from LIC Flea Food vendors and locally brewed beer, as is done at the 47th Road location.

The store will be Food Cellar’s second location. It is expected to open next summer.
