Studio Square NYC, the mammoth event and entertainment complex at 35-37 36th St., is gearing up for an afternoon of cigars, whiskey and BBQ.

The event, called “Smoke 2013” will offer party goers access to an open bar, unlimited whiskey tasting (Pernod Ricard, Chivas Regal, Jameson and Glenlivet), and All You Can Eat BBQ. The event is scheduled for Saturday, May 18th from 1pm-5pm. The cost: $110.

“It’s the first time we’re doing an event like this one,” said Peter Mason, who is in charge of marketing. “If it comes off well, we’ll make it an annual event.”

Mason said that all participants will receive an ostrich skin travel case with 4 premium Rocky Patel cigars, valued at $150.

But “Smoke 2013″ is just one of many events that are on Studio Square’s spring/summer schedule.

“We have a lot of events beginning in April,” said Jennifer Barker, who works in the marketing department. “[Kentucky] Derby Day and Cinco de Mayo is coming up.” However, she is expecting “Smoke 2013” to be a particularly big occasion.

Everything at the 30,000-sq foot event complex is big, from the cobblestone beer garden to the two indoor spaces. Nine bar stations serve crowds with a maximum capacity of 2,500.

Studio Square is purported to be the world’s largest retailer of Sam Adams and Blue Moon—and offers a total of 23 beers on tap. It also serves German grill and American pub food.

During the busy season of the spring and summer months, Studio Square employs 80 workers.
