A crane collapsed in Long Island City Wednesday afternoon.

A construction crane collapsed in Queens Wednesday, injuring seven workers, authorities said.

It was not immediately clear how many people were hurt after the crane tipped at 46th Ave. and Center Blvd. in Long Island City about 2:20 p.m., authorities said.

Investigators were trying to determine what caused the equipment to collapse.

The site is directly behind the iconic Pepsi sign on the eastern shore of the East River.
