Is This Glassy 15-Story Tower Coming to Long Island City?

Here’s something interesting: New York YIMBY spotted this somewhat mindboggling rendering for a 15-story glass tower that is supposedly destined for Queens Plaza South in Long Island City. Created by Raymond Chan Architects, the 415,400-square-foot project has a giant retail podium splattered with rectangular LED signs, and although it says the development is 15 stories, the rendering looks much taller. Equally confusing is the building’s purpose: the rendering says “mixed-use,” but it’s categorized under commercial. Quite the head-scratcher, this one!

We’ve reached out to the architects, as there is very little information on their site, so while we wait to hear back, does anyone have any other intel about this project? The tipline is open.
