Signal trouble that caused delays of more than 40 minutes Wednesday morning on the Montauk branch of the Long Island Rail Road has been addressed, officials said.

As of 9 a.m., the MTA website reported that service is “good” on the branch.

But, the railroad said that on the Port Jefferson line the 8:04 a.m. train from Huntington, scheduled to arrive at Penn Station at 9:08 a.m., was operating 18 minutes late from Huntington because of equipment trouble before departure.

Earlier, at least three trains on the Montauk branch were affected by that signal trouble.

The 5:08 a.m. train from Speonk to Penn Station operated 39 minutes late east of Sayville because of signal trouble.

The 5:30 a.m. train from Speonk, due in Long Island City at 7:34 a.m., operated 42 minutes late, the website said.

The 6:21 a.m. train from Speonk, due in Penn Station at 8:23 a.m., operated 12 minutes late east of Mastic-Shirley – also because of signal trouble.

It was not immediately clear what caused the problems.
