PSAL girls basketball roundup: Rupelli drops 33 as ND beats Petrides

Jackie Rupelli went off to help her team clinch a playoff spot.

The senior guard poured in 33 points to lead New Dorp to a 60-44 win over Petrides in PSAL Staten Island A girls basketball Monday on the road. With the win, the Central Cougars (10-11, 8-5) are guaranteed a record of over .500 and spot in the PSAL Class A playoffs.

Racqual Baudanza had 16 points. Rupelli added five 3-pointers. Petrides is 4-9.

Wings Academy 85, South Bronx 41: Amirah Greene had 21 points and Karen Bellamy and Omarelin Paulino each had 13 points for Wings (15-2, 15-0 Bronx A South). Tyler Moses had 11 points. South Bronx is 3-13.

Goldstein 51, Lafayette 42: Brittany McDonough had 16 points and Danielle Natoli had 10 points for Goldstein (18-2, 15-0 Brooklyn A South). Lafayette is 10-4.

LaGuardia 61, George Washington 22: Victoria Aiese had 17 points, Azra Nikocevic had 15 points and Alexa Zeliger added 13 points for LaGuardia (12-4 Manhattan A North). GW is 2-13.

Canarsie 92, FDR 31: Diamond Butcher had 31 points and Cordelle Theodule had 25 points for Canarsie (8-6 Brooklyn A South). Renika Bryan had 14 points and Karnesia McPherson had 13 points. Nan Zhang had 15 points and Giovana Rosado had 11 points for FDR (1-13).

Long Island City 42, Richmond Hill 23: Yanina Almiron had 12 points to lead LIC (6-9 Queens A West). Richmond Hill is 2-13.

Stevenson 68, Columbus 59: Kerniesha Williams had 23 points and Kayla Patrick and Keyana Brown Wiggins each had 17 points for Stevenson (7-8 Bronx A North). Columbus is 2-13.

PSAL CLASS B

Gompers 50, Jane Addams 46: Aaliyah Mercer had 15 points and Amanda Guareno had 12 points for Gompers (15-0 Bronx B West). Addams is 11-5.

Scholars Academy 61, RFK 24: Taylor Gallagher, Serena Yannello and Emma Michaels each had 14 points for Scholars (12-2 Queens B East). RFK is 5-9.

Fannie Lou Hamer 58, South Bronx Prep 37: Arleen Acosta had 22 points, Pamela Suarez had 15 points and Nikiyea Edgar had 10 points for Fannie Lou Hamer (9-5 Bronx B East). South Bronx Prep is 9-5.

East Side Community 56, Chelsea 35: Jasmine Rodriguez had 17 points and Ashley Rodriguez Vidal had 13 points to lead East Side (7-10 Manhattan B South). Samantha Fernandez and Christiann Perez each had 11 points. Martha Willey had 18 points for Chelsea (1-14).
