Police search for serial bank robber

By amol on March 21, 2012

A suspect wanted for three February robberies has struck twice more in March, police said.

Last month, the suspect robbed three Chase banks in Rego Park, Long Island City and Forest Hills, according to authorities, all of which are located along Queens Boulevard.

Police say the suspect is responsible for two more bank robberies that occurred at a Jamaica Capital One and a Maspeth Chase this month, with the most recent incident taking place on Thursday, March 15.

The suspect enters the bank and hands a note to the teller demanding money, police said. He then flees the location.

Police described the suspect as a black male in his 30s, standing 6-feet-2-inches tall.

Anyone with information in regards to these incidents is asked to call Crime stoppers at 800-577-TIPS (8477). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime stoppers website at WWW.NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.COM or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then
