CSA options for LICers proliferate

Not long ago, LIC residents lacked opportunities to participate in CSA (Community Supported Agriculture programs). Now there are some great options.

Some examples are:

Drop off point: Arris Lofts, 27-28 Thomson Ave, LIC, Sundays 8:45 am
You can select what you want online from their weekly offerings. They have vegetables, fruit, bread, dairy, meat and more!

Long Island City CSA: http://liccsa.wordpress.com/
Drop off point: Jacob A. Riis Neighborhood Settlement,10-25 41st Ave, LIC, Wednesdays 4-7 pm

Brooklyn Grange: www.brooklyngrangefarm.com
Weekly markets. Tuesday and Thursday, 3pm-7pm in the lobby of their building (food is grown on the roof), 37-18 Northern Blvd, LIC. There are other Queens and Brooklyn market locations too.

Basis Foods: www.basisfoods.com
Drop off point: Communitea

And, of course, the LIC Greenmarket
48th Avenue at 5th Street, Long Island City, NY
Open: July 7 - November 24, 2010
Times: Wednesdays, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
