Times are a' changing if the phone company is moving out.
In addition to the LIC Pharmacy on 21st Street near the playground, and the Vernon pharmacy that seems to be closed most of the time, there will soon be a Duane Reade in one of the East Coast buildings.

Have you noticed the big uptick in bike parking all over LIC?


There are lots more bike lock stations near the subway stops. And near Vernon-Jackson 7 stop, there is an actual bike parking "garage" with an awesome map of all the bike parking locations.

It was the weekend of art openings in LIC this weekend; probably something to do with the lovely spring weather on Sunday.
Fisher Landau hosted the Columbia University MFA students for their graduation year show. Some great stuff -- and a nice party. Normally a sleepy place where you can check out masterpieces of post 1950 American art all by your lonesome.
