Chemical Factory, going down

Say good-bye to the four stacks that spell LIC near the waterfront.

The owner has filed to knock them down. So far the permit filing is just for demo, so they haven't yet said what comes next. All it looks like they are applying to do is pretty it up for those with a more fertile imagination -- down the towers, clear out the interior space's levels, and fix some windows. Next step would be the schematic architectural design phase where potential developers start playing with it.

Rumor is that this building was sold already - but LICNYC hasn't seen the evidence. LICNYC will not be stopped so easily! LICNYC's investigative real estate experts will dive into the matter!
